Catalina 27 LE

Nautilus Yacht Management is proud to present this immaculate example of the immensely popular Catalina 27 LE. It is true that Catalina has an amazing knack for creating yachts that are not only strong and pleasing to the eyes, but provide yachties, novice or otherwise, with just the boat to fall in love with!

'Provocateur' is the sweetest little boat! Prized by her owners, she presents in immaculate condition, and could pass for a very recent model. Recent work include a new diesel engine (2011), new alternator (2015), new windows (2016, new macerator pump (2016), new house battery (2015), two new back-stays, and numerous little bits and pieces as the need arose.

The Vessel was built to survey and purchased under an Australian Government financial scheme. Survey requirements included a thicker hull, three lifelines and capacity for four life rings. The original owners advised that the vessel had very limited usage as a charter vessel with only day sailing and no overnight usage.

The Catalina 270 LE is a remarkable little boat that ticks a lot of boxes. Easy to sail yet responsive, she is a favorite of local club twilight racing. She is a pleasure to handle, with a lovely, graceful motion through the water. Her generous reserve buoyancy forward means a dryer deck, and her large cockpit could fool you into thinking you are on a much larger vessel. In fact, this cockpit is a real winner, with its comfortable seating, good size table, strong pedestal with mounted instruments for safe handling in rough condition, curved settee for the captain, hot and cold shower, and of course the two curved 'princess seats' on the aft railing, which are just the perfect place to relax with a drink and watch other people do all the work! The removable aft seat allows passage through to the good size transom, which opens onto a platform and lifting swim ladder. A huge storage compartment is located beneath one of the cockpit settee, as well as dedicated gas and storage compartment beneath the lock-able aft seats.

In spite of her size and raised coach-roof, the walk-around deck is easy to negotiate, and is just lovely with its light grey non-skid with white trims. At the boat is a solid push-pit, and anchor locker.

For ease of handling, all the lines are run aft to the cockpit, so that traffic on deck is kept to a minimum while sailing.

Inside, the Catalina 27 LE reveals yet more surprising usable space, thanks to her award-winning layout and interior design. Most amazing is her private aft cabin with very large double berth, settee and storage. The boat has a very good size head area with hot and cold pressurized shower, marine toilet with new macerator and two-way flushing (holding tank or outboard).

The galley is L-shape and very well equipped, with a large (70L) ice-box with foot pump to discharge ice water, which goes down into a special receptacle to avoid getting the food wet. A very good stove, sink with pressurized hot and cold water and excellent storage.

Around the center-saloon are comfortable settees, with more storage, and access to the forward V berth.

The interior, as is the exterior and equipment of this boat is truly presented beautifully. One can tell at first glance that this boat has been given the most attentive care. Her owners, who for good reasons have fallen in love with the Catalinas, would like to purchase a larger vessel, and are now very intent on selling 'Provocateur'.

Be quick! The price is indicative of the owner's genuine to sell quickly, and would normally place this boat among sister-ships that are unfortunately far less well presented or equipped. This sweet but strong little vessel will offer you many years of trouble-free sailing with your family. She must be seen to be fully appreciated.

Lastly, the boat was surveyed in January 2017 and the report is available for your perusal.
