Moody yachts were build to Lloyds specifications with a strong focus on creating a go-anywhere, strong and seaworthy yacht also capable of a good turn of speed.

The Moody 422 is an elegant boat with refined lines and while it provides the safety of the centre cockpit, also incorporates a fantastic aft section ideal for getting in out of a dinghy or for a BBQ. The sugar scoop and stainless steel steps make boarding the boat very easy for people of all ages.

The decks are unobstructed and easy to navigate. All the lines are set up for short-handed or solo sailing.

For a boat of this size the aft cabin is particularly spacious and has a centreline double with all round access and of course an ensuite head with hot and cold shower.

Ideal size but with plenty of storage and a safe and sociable centre cockpit, she makes a comfortable cruising yacht for a couple and guests or a growing family.

She will accommodate six in two double cabins and two single bunks, plus the additional two berth with lee cloths in the main salon.

Owned by the same family for the past 13 years, and previously by several long-terms owners who sailed her from Europe to the South Pacific, Arctic Lady has proven herself to be perfect as a long distance blue-water yacht capable of handling serious offshore condition. She is very comfortable for long range cruising and for around NZ too. Why not take advantage to explore New Zealand's world renowned cruising ground and enjoy ringside seats to the America's Cup in March 2021!

This Moody 422 was surveyed by the renowned Harry Jorgensen in New Zealand in February 2020 and showed herself to be a very sound, well maintained boat.

We are here to help.

"We bought Arctic Lady in Fiji in 2007 and sailed her home to NZ.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our years with her and will be sad to see her go.  Our daughter Janelle is now 15 so we decided the time was right to step up to something more challenging.  Last year at short notice, we decided to purchase an Oyster 46, taking 10 months to sail back to NZ.  Hence Arctic Lady is now on the market.

Most of our sailing is in and around the greater Hauraki Gulf (Auckland and it’s many islands/Great Barrier/Coromandel/Mercury Islands).  We often traverse the eastern coast of the North Island (Auckland to Whangaroa) and have circumnavigated the North Island and spent time in the upper reaches of the South Island (Marlbourough Sounds/Tasman Bay etc).  We’ve put her through her paces and she’s never let us down being such a sturdy yet comfortable boat.

Her drop-down dodger is ideal for the regular local club racing affording superb all-round visibility and ideal for those hot, balmy, summer days. Arctic Lady is solid, reliable, easy to handle in all conditions and comes with generous storage space and headroom below.  She’s has been well cared for with regular anti-fouling and attention."
