Packed with the most impressive inventory we have ever seen, she cannot be missed if you are on the market for a near new Lagoon 46, which has been tried and tested over thousands of miles of ocean voyaging. Her owners, a family of five, have carried out an impressive list of upgrades in 2024 before beginning their Pacific crossing.
After much research with no price point, they decided on the very best equipment and no detail was missed. This fabulous and unequalled Lagoon 46 is available now in Australia.
Her owners are on board and continue to maintain her daily. They will remain on board until sold, assist you with your inspection, sea trial a thorough handover to show you where everything is and how everything works on board. They also offer to deliver the boat to Australia or NZ for a new owner as part of a purchase agreement if required.
Easy to sail and learn to operate, this Lagoon 46 would suit a family new to cruising, yet will satisfy more performance oriented sailors with her good turn of speed and seakeeping qualities.

A WORD FROM THE OWNERS
"We had a big dream, but only a year to cross the Pacific Ocean as a family of 5. From the moment we saw her in 2023, we knew that this 2021 Lagoon 46 “Optimystic” was perfect for our family adventures. Since then, she has gone above and beyond all of our expectations. Her blue-water capabilities, four spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, elevated flybridge and hydraulic tender lift have kept our family safe and happy as we’ve explored the Caribbean and South Pacific over the past 8 months.
When we bought her from her first owner, she was part of a small charter fleet in Fajardo, Puerto Rico run by the official dealership for Lagoon Catamarans in the Caribbean. Her owner had sadly experienced a health setback shortly after her delivery and, despite having eagerly anticipated years of sailing, he decided to sell her to our family so that we could live out our dreams of a Pacific crossing. Having “Optimystic” in a carefully managed charter fleet was ideal, since we lived in Cleveland, Ohio and could only be aboard for a week every few months. We chartered her a total of 8 times to cover the costs of boat insurance and dockage fees, while having an excellent Lagoon maintenance team at our disposal. In July 2024, she underwent a significant professionally performed refit in preparation for our year at sea. By the time we moved aboard a few months later, “Optimystic” had a backup autopilot, new sails, 1600+Ah of lithium power, over 2400W of solar and upgraded alternators, 2x 5000w inverters, a washing machine, a new large capacity water maker, new freezers, dive compressor, and much much more.
Over these 8 months, she has been a gem, taking every passage in stride, sailing equally smoothly through sporty seas or the muggy, quiet doldrums of the Pacific crossing. Having a helm station high up on the flybridge drastically enhanced our interactions with the sea. Almost daily we’ve seen dolphins, whales, turtles, schools of bait fish, occasional Portuguese man-o-war jellyfish floating along, and one time, a giant Pacific hammerhead shark. When the weather has turned rough, we’ve been deeply grateful to have the lower navigation station in the saloon, which has allowed us to stay safe and dry while fully in control of the boat. The hydraulic tender lift doubles as a swim platform and has been a game changer when it comes to quickly and safely lifting the dinghy and makes SCUBA diving off the stern a breeze. Her powerful twin engines were essential for our Panama Canal transit, but even more so when getting us safely through the challenging passes of the Tuamotus and Society Islands of French Polynesia. It is with an aching heart that we have to let her go, but our 12-month adventure is coming to an end and our professional and family obligations are calling us back to the US."
