ZOE is an Franchini Atlantide 41S built in 1995 in ltaly by Cantieri Franchini to a design by Studio Starkel. She is a centre cockpit cruising sailboat featuring  a hull in monolithic fibreglass in vinylester resin, with an external lead ballast and a skeg hung rudder.

In the early 1990s Franchini launched the 41 S.  It is a centre-cockpit Bluewater yacht designed by Roberto Starkel. It was said to be the most beautiful Franchini ever. Well-made boat, comfortable and seaworthy, it was immediately highly appreciated. They later built the motor-sailing version, but the 41S is a fast cruising yacht designed on the lined of a German Frers, and very similar to a Hallberg-Rassy or Malō yacht.

ZOE is rigged with her original aluminium mast and boom which in 2016 were removed and recoated in gloss white. In fact, in 2016 and 2023, ZOE has benefited from two major refitting works, carried out to ensure the highest level of safety in preparation for her two ocean crossings. She was fully re-rigged in 2023.

ZOE is sailed as a cutter, with a 55 sqm yankee, a 15 sqm staysail, a 40 sqm main sail. For downwind navigation she is equipped with two carbon fiber whisker poles, each to be mounted on its own track on the side of the mast holding out the yankee and an additional 50 sqm staysail. ZOE also features a 60 sqm code zero and a 65 sqm gennaker for light wind sailing. Both the forestay and the staysail are equipped with Bamar rolller furlers.

A WORD FROM THE OWNERS:

"Zoe is a custom-built sailing yacht constructed in Italy by the Franchini shipyard in 1995. We purchased her second hand in 2015 with the aim of undertaking a round-the-world voyage. We were particularly drawn to her dimensions, which are ideal for two people, as well as her center cockpit, strength and durability, teak deck and the elegant well-crafted interior.
We spent more than a year refitting and preparing her for our purpose. Among the things we did were installing a new custom-designed arch and a fixed bimini. On the arch we installed the solar panels, wind generator, various antennas and the dinghy davits. We replaced all major electrical cables, all electronics and the insulation in the engine room. We double secured all stanchions, replaced the lifelines and purchased 100 meters of 10mm galvanized chain. We also had two carbon whisker poles custom made for wing-on-wing sailing, complete with dedicated port and starboard mast tracks, along with a full set of new sails. And much more... When we set sails at the end of 2016, Zoe was fully equipped for offshore sailing.
Each year, we  typically sailed for around six months during the non cyclonic-season, hauling her out for the remainder of the year in various boatyards. In 2025 we reached Fiji, where ZOE was laid up in a pit at Vuda Marina for the cyclone season. Zoe has never been used or intended as a charter boat.
Over the years, Zoe has consistently proven to be reliable and well-suited even in more demanding sailing and weather conditions. She carried us safely and in great comfort across the world's largest oceans, giving us the chance to experience extraordinary places of breathtaking beauty and unforgettable encounters with people. We hosted friends in several occasions, all of whom adapted perfectly and found the boat comfortable and welcoming.
Not without regret, the time has come to move on to new projects and adventures. We hope that whoever buys the boat will cherish and love her as we have over these past ten wonderful years." Sergio & Gemma, Fiji, July 2026
